NCC Group recognises that modern slavery is a crime and a violation of human rights. The term includes not only slavery but also servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.
We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. To do this this we implement and enforce effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or supply chain.
Our commitment and zero tolerance approach is communicated to all suppliers, contractors and business partners at the start of the relationship and regularly thereafter. We expect high standards from all our contractors, suppliers, and other business partners, and expect suppliers hold their own supply chains to the same standards.
Responsibility and monitoring
The Board of directors has overall responsibility for ensuring we comply with our legal and ethical obligations.
The Global Director of Risk and Compliance has primary and day to day responsibility for implementing the standards, monitoring results, and dealing with any queries about it, as well as auditing internal control systems and procedures to ensure they are effective in countering modern slavery.
All Executive Committee members are responsible for ensuring their teams understand and comply with the requirements and know how to raise areas of concern.
